The Church of England offers a Christian presence in every community. Together we seek to make this Christian presence the heart of all our cities, towns and villages: by our wonderful buildings; by worshipping together; by serving our communities and by sharing our faith and values. This valuable contribution to our community has a cost, of which 75% is met by personal donations. For our church to survive and grow, we rely on regular donations so that we can plan confidently for the future.
Our Churches have bills to pay - the insurances, repair work, salaries, and also heating. So to those who do give their offering either through a standing order, direct debit or the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) – thank you. See below for how to join the scheme.

Please ring the treasurer of the church and they will let you know about Gift Aiding your donation and give you bank details for a bank transfer or where to send or drop off a cheque, cash or weekly envelopes.

The scheme is a centrally run (non-profit), professional system that offers a simple way for people to make donations to their parishes. (www.parishgivingscheme.org.uk).
Donations can be made on a one-off basis or a monthly, quarterly or annual basis via Direct Debit to the Parish Giving Scheme (PGS). Even though donations are made to the PGS, they are restricted to our parish and unlike a utility bill, you are always in charge of what you give. The parish is paid the donations and the Gift Aid monthly.
The advantages for the parish are no more local administration, timely Gift Aid payments and the ability to plan ahead knowing the amount of money coming in.
The advantages for the donor are no more scrabbling around for change on a Sunday morning and the ability to easily increase your donation in line with inflation (if you wish).
All our churches except St Mary are registered for the Parish Giving Scheme.
Ring the dedicated PGS telephone number 0333 002 1271 (Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm). One of the their administrators will take you through the sign-up process - it usually takes about 10 minutes.
